Stories from the ‘Roads’ of Empire was a collaboration explored themes of catastrophe, displacement, and renewal by engaging with two archives: the Imperial War Museums and personal migration stories shared by the public. Too often, migration narratives are told by those without lived experience—this project asked how we might reclaim and reframe those complexities. Through a collaborative drawing workshop, participants reimagined selected Imperial War Museum pieces in dialogue with memories of displacement and renewal.
