LONDON SOUTH BANK UNIVERSITY EXHIBITION, BLKBRD COLLECTIVE AND DANA OLARESCU. 2O21.

ABOUT.

Stories from the ‘Roads’ of Empire was a collaborative project with London South Bank University, Dana Olarescu, and BLKBRD Collective, it explored stories of catastrophe, displacement, and subsequent renewal associated by engaging with two different archives: Imperial War Museums, and the memories of members of the public willing to share their stories of migration. Migration narratives are often told by those who have not experienced them. How do we reclaim the lived complexities of our stories when they are told on our behalf by institutions?
in a conversational and collabortive drawing workshop, We reimagined Imperial War Museums’ archives, in response to a number of Archive pieces, selected for their relation memories of displacement and personal renewal. The workshop formed part of a London South Bank University exhibition in collaboration with Counterpoints Arts.
