Exhibition: Chrysalis

  • Chrysalis is a narrative-led exhibition that explores the universal theme of transition through the life cycle of a butterfly. The butterfly becomes both metaphor and guide—its fragile wings symbolising the immense power of small actions to reshape the world, while its transformation embodies the courage required to embrace change.

The chrysalis serves as a central motif: a self-constructed sanctuary of protection and limitation, born from fear and uncertainty. Within its opaque walls, the vulnerable pupa waits, suspended between what was and what might be. This moment of stillness mirrors the human condition—our tendency to create boundaries that shield us from external chaos while concealing us from growth.

The breaking of the chrysalis signifies a decisive threshold. As light floods the space, the figure within must choose: to remain bound by the illusion of safety or to risk emergence, carrying the exhilaration and fear of flight into an unknown future.
